Financial Education Classes  

Financial Fitness Course

Are your finances controlling you? Attend homeWORD’s “Financial Fitness” course to learn how to manage your money!

Financial Fitness is a nationally-certified personal financial management course for adults.  homeWORD is offering 5 week Financial Fitness workshops.  Participants will learn how to set financial goals, create budgets and savings plans, understand credit reports, make smart borrowing choices, manage debt, make smart insurance and tax choices, and avoid financial pitfalls. Classes fill quickly so register early!

Free child-care, refreshments!

Pre-registration is required –email holly@homeword.org or call 532-4663 ext. 14 to register or for class details. Cost is $10.00 due at first meeting. Scholarships available.

Dollars and Sense
This class is about basic Financial Education, and is organized by Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) and Rural Dynamics, Inc. (RDI). Dollars and Sense classes are the next step in financial freedom. These classes offer a toolkit for financial success. The four part series includes:

- Understanding Credit and Credit Reports
- Making Budgeting Works with Your Schedule
- Predatory Lending and Identity Theft Insurance
- Financial Institutions and Taxes

Participants must complete all four parts to graduate the series. Some local partners are offering incentives for participants to graduate, that include partcipation in Individual Development Account (IDA) programs for education/training or homeownership.

Classes are sponsored by NeighborWorks Montana and are free to participants.
